Heritage crispy prata made with homemade dough, continuing a Jalan Kayu family tradition.
Master Prata is a prata specialist run by Asraf, who inherited his crispy prata recipe from his father — a former Jalan Kayu prata maker. The stall is one of the rare few in Singapore that still makes its own dough from scratch, refusing to rely on factory-supplied versions. The result is prata that is shatteringly crisp on the outside and fluffy within, evoking the golden era of Jalan Kayu-style prata from the 1990s.
The menu offers an eye-popping 108 prata flavours, but purists will want the plain prata — crispy and golden, best dunked into their fish, mutton, or chicken curry. Prices start from under a dollar for plain prata, and the stall at Alexandra Central is open from 10am to midnight, making it a solid option for late-night supper cravings.
MakanSouth recommends going back to basics — order the plain prata and savour the crunch that only handmade dough can deliver. Drop by Master Prata and taste a piece of Singapore's prata heritage for yourself.

My favorite super crispy prata! Also their large size iced drinks are super huge, so prepare yourself. You can feel the sugar rush after 😂 staff all nice and helpful. I've been here a few times and will continue to come back again. …

Staff was kind and took my order first before being seated. The curry and prata was fair to decent. More expensive compared to other options out there. Alot of seating avaliable during office hour lunch time.

Mani was so friendly and helpful in recommending what to eat. Prata were as usual on point and Mani recommended their signature dish: dragon chicken, it was delicious, similar to our kung pow chicken. Overall it was a very enjoyable lunch experience
