If you have ever wandered the streets of Japan at night, you will recognise Torikizoku's vibrant yellow signboards. The famous yakitori chain, founded in 1985 in Osaka and now boasting more than 700 outlets globally, has opened its first Singapore outlet at VivoCity on 29 May 2026, with the grand opening on 15 June 2026. You no longer need to fly 5,350 km for the experience.
The SGD 3.90++ Promise
True to its Japanese roots, Torikizoku keeps its uniform pricing policy intact. Every skewer, rice and noodle item, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage on the menu is a flat SGD 3.90++, while items on the kids' menu and alcoholic drinks are priced at SGD 9.90++. This makes it one of the most affordable Japanese dining options at HarbourFront, with most diners spending between SGD 7.80 and SGD 19.80 per person depending on how many skewers they order. In Japan, the brand charges a flat 390 yen per item, and the Singapore pricing is a direct translation of that policy.
What to Order
The Top 5 Fan Favourites list is the best starting point. Three of those items give you a complete picture of what Torikizoku does well.
- Signature Kizokuyaki Thigh, Sauce (SGD 3.90++): Available in breast or thigh, with your choice of Rock Salt, Sauce or Spice seasoning. The thigh with sauce is the order most regulars recommend, with slices of leek between the cubes of chicken thigh for crunch. These are the backbone of the Torikizoku experience.
- Chicken Kamameshi (SGD 3.90++): A classic Japanese rice dish cooked in a mini iron pot. The kamameshi takes 20 minutes to cook and another 5 minutes to rest, so order it at the start of the meal. The rice comes out sticky and fragrant, with chicken and vegetables mixed through.
- Grilled Fluffy Grated Yam (SGD 3.90++): A traditional izakaya side, topped with thin seaweed, mayonnaise and a quail egg. It leans salty, so pair it with a non-alcoholic drink or a bowl of kamameshi rice to balance the flavour.
Other orders worth adding to your tray include the Stuffed Bell Pepper with Ponzu (SGD 3.90++), crunchy and slightly bitter with a balanced meat stuffing, and the Chicken Meatball with Cheese (SGD 3.90++), which has a savoury, juicy exterior and soft meat. There are also kid-friendly meals for families visiting VivoCity, priced at SGD 9.90++.
The Space
The Singapore outlet trades Japan's cramped, cosy izakaya feel for a more spacious layout with both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the HarbourFront boardwalk. The interior has quaint-looking furniture with simple lines, Japanese music playing in the background, and the staff greet every walk-in with a loud "irashamase" as you enter. The outdoor section faces the boardwalk and Sentosa across the water, which makes it a popular spot for the sunset slot between 6pm and 7pm.
Opening Promotion: Time Challenge Game
To mark the launch, Torikizoku is running a Time Challenge Game from 15 to 30 June 2026. Participants start a timer by clicking the red buzzer on the mascot Toriki and try to stop it at exactly 3.9 seconds. A perfect 3.9-second hit wins a free meal, while a timing between 3.7 and 4.1 seconds earns a cute Toriki plushie. The game is free to play for all dine-in customers.

Why the VivoCity Outlet Matters
Torikizoku is the first major Japanese yakitori chain to land in Singapore with a flat-price model, and the VivoCity outlet is its Southeast Asian debut. The location choice is deliberate, VivoCity sits above HarbourFront MRT, the Sentosa Express terminus is in the same building, and the boardwalk-facing outdoor seating gives the outlet a waterfront feel that the cramped Tokyo and Osaka outlets cannot offer. For south-side residents and anyone heading to Sentosa, the SGD 3.90++ pricing makes it one of the most accessible Japanese dining options in the HarbourFront belt.
If you are planning a visit in the first few weeks, expect queues from 6pm onward, especially on weekends. The outdoor seats facing the boardwalk are the most sought-after, so arrive before 5:30pm if you want one. The kamameshi takes 25 minutes from order to table, so put it in as soon as you sit down. Reservations are not accepted at the soft opening phase, but walk-in is the only option, which keeps the turnover fast.
